One recent August evening, Brett Schenk went for a walk to Waahila Ridge State Recreation Area, where he noticed a young boy overloading a barbecue grill at a pavilion with branches just before closing time.
Governor Josh Green, M.D., signed three bills into law at a signing ceremony at the Makapu‘u lookout in Waimānalo along with 14 bills signed earlier that seek to support the protection of Hawaiʻi’s beaches, shorelines and public lands.
All of the land from just west of Sandy Beach down to the Makapuu Lookout will soon become a State park. Gov. Josh Green recently hiked the area with his family and said those memories should not stop with his keiki.
