Hookem Oklahoma turned continued on-field success into its first Big 12 recruiting crown since the 2017 cycle by signing the only national top-10 class inked a by Big 12 program. 1. Oklahoma Topping the list: QB Caleb Williams, ATH Billy Bowman, WR Mario Williams Overview: Regularly competing for, and winning, conference titles carries with it recruiting advantages. The Sooners took advantage of those perks in the 2021 class, crushing the Big 12 competition and raiding Texas of some of its best prospects in the process. Three of the five highest-rated players in the class are Texans, including former Texas commit Billy Bowman Jr. Oklahoma will be the only Big 12 program to sign a top-10 class in 2021. ....
With a few late moves, the Cowboys have climbed up to third in the Big 12 in 2021 recruiting rankings. Oklahoma State signed 21 prospects on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. Shortly after all the letters of intent came in, Mike Gundy met with reporters via Zoom to discuss his class. Here is what he said. Opening Statement “It’s good to get it in, get them all tucked away. We got exactly what we wanted. Seven Oklahoma kids, nine Texas. Huge, huge class for midterm. Bringing players in early is getting very popular. It’s kind of what we’ve done here for the years past. We would like to concentrate on Oklahoma and Texas and surrounding states. This will put us at the number of 85, which is what we need to be at as we move forward through the summer.” ....
Every year, Oklahoma State signs 20-25 recruits to its football program, and every year after watching their tape, monitoring their trajectory as high-schoolers and seeing how they’re slotted in the rankings, I grow more fond of some than others. It’s not that I dislike recruits, but some pop more than others. They’re my guys. So with the early signing period starting Wednesday, I figured now is as good a time as any to put it on the table and claim my guys, rankings be damned. Some are highly touted. Some are not. Cowboys place three on Class 3A First Team ♦ After a season in which two Tooele County teams made deep postseason runs, and a third showed plenty of promise, it comes as no surprise that the annual All-State teams are filled with some of the county’s top talent. Grantsville leads the way with seven All-State selections, including three First Teamers, after the Cowboys advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals for the second consecutive season. Grantsville also had two Second Teamers and two Honorable Mention recipients. Stansbury had four players named to the Second Team in Class 4A, while Stansbury and Tooele each had one player earn Honorable Mention. ....
