KOTA KINABALU: The story of a father's sacrifice of a city job to return to care for his family's padi field and his ailing mother is highlighted in a short film to mark Kaamatan (Harvest) celebrations.
KOTA KINABALU: The state-level Kaamatan festival this May will be held behind closed doors in accordance with the strict Health Ministry’s standard operating procedures (SOP).
State Kaamatan organising chairman Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said the state harvest festival set to kick off on May 1 will be held online as planned but the number of people allowed to attend physically will be restricted.
He said the state cabinet has agreed that this year’s Kaamatan will take place, and celebrations will be held at the Hongkod Koisaan hall on the grounds of the Kadazandusun Cultural Association in Penampang.
Speaking after chairing the organising committee meeting here on Friday, (April 23) he said there will be no open house, and attendance will be limited to 50 people or 30% of the venue capacity, whichever is lower.
