The proposed European Super League (ESL) – a breakaway tournament meant to be contested with 20 European clubs annually (with 15 founding members)- collapsed in just 48 hours. The Super League was established on 18 April 2021 with 12 clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs (England), Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid (Spain) and AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus (Italy) – as its original founding members. In the ESL, 20 teams were to be a part of competition. 2 groups of 10 teams would play home and away.  The top three teams at the end of the first round would automatically qualify for the quarter-finals. The fourth and fifth-place teams would then face each other in a play-off match for the two remaining places in the quarter-finals. ....

Serie A: I will sign Ronaldo again tomorrow - Juventus Chief, Agnelli


Juventus Chairman, Andrea Agnelli,has said that the club will not hesitate to sign Cristiano Ronaldo again if the need be.
He said that Ronaldo’s presence alone has “guaranteed” the other clubs in Serie A €4 million in extra revenue.
The Italian champions spent £99m ($138m) to sign Ronaldo from Real Madrid in 2018 in the hope that he could help them win the Champions League.
Despite scoring over 30 goals for the team this season, the former Manchester United star has been criticised for allegedly holding back the rest of the team.
