At a Wednesday rally, Oakland teachers were fired up because they now have a clearer pathway to settle or strike. With 88% of teachers voting to strike, the Oakland Education Association union, says it is still hoping for a settlement.
Teachers at the Oakland Educators Association office said they plan to rally outside the OUSD Board meeting Wednesday, one day after the union announced the members had voted to authorize a strike if labor contract talks don't progress.
Student designer Balmont Ave and the University of Utah’s Fashion in Business student organization had their first collaborative fashion show on Thursday, titled “Late Registration.” Other designers like Sore Thumb streetwear, Earth Curse Disco and MurMade Swimwear sent spring styles down the runway at the U’s Library Plaza. Student vendors were also scattered around the plaza.
