SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A Sacramento police officer was arrested Friday on suspicion of domestic violence and making a threat with a gun, authorities said.
Justin Shepard, 30, was also booked into jail on suspicion of false imprisonment, corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and making criminal threats against a victim of death or great bodily injury, according to jail records cited by the Sacramento Bee.
The Police Department was notified on Thursday of the domestic violence incident, which occurred about a week earlier in the Natomas area while Shepard was off duty, according to a Police Department statement.

The suspect, 30-year-old Justin Shepard, has been an officer in the department for about three years.The department said the incident happened when Shepard was off duty. He was arrested Friday on felony domestic abuse charges and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Regal Cinemas will reopen its Mississippi theaters this month in part of the company s global reopening after shutting down its 536 theaters across the United States in October to prevent spread of the coronavirus. Both Regal UA Parkway Place in Flowood and Regal UA Westbrook in Brookhaven will reopen May 21, according to the company s website. Company officials did not respond to requests for additional information about the reopening.
According to the company s website, all guests will be required to wear face masks at all times, during showings, while standing in the theatre lobby and restrooms. Masks can be taken off only when eating or drinking.
