Accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann appeared in a Long Island court Tuesday for the first time since being indicted last month on charges of killing a fourth woman.
Speculation is swirling that Heuermann, 60, could be charged with the killing of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, one of the Gilgo Four whose remains were found near the architect s home.
The Suffolk County District Attorney s office is asking a justice to allow prosecutors to swab Rex Heuermann s cheek for further DNA after collecting a sample off a pizza crust and napkin.
