Justice Abdulkadir Orire, a renowned Muslim cleric, distinguished teacher and seasoned jurist, was born at Obaninsunwa on June 3, 1930, and died on January 26, 2021.
Orire started off with the study of the Quranic reading and recitation as a kindergarten. He was exposed to the fundamental aspects of the Islamic faith and the exciting culture of Ilorin, which made him grow up to become a committed Muslim. x
This great jurist’s voyage into Western education started in 1943 at the instance of the late Daudu Ballah, Alhaji Saidu Alao Omo-Oloni. It was Omo-Oloni, who insisted on enrolling him as one of the pioneer pupils of the then Ballah Elementary School (now Ballah LGEA School) Ballah, in the present-day Asa Local Council of Kwara State between 1943 and 1947. Orire did very well at Elementary School and became a pride to the founding father of the school, Alhaji Saidu Omo Oloni.

There’s a palpable tension in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State as gunmen ambushed three persons, leading to the death of one Amos Elisha.
It was learnt that the three identified as Amos Elisha, Daniel Sati and Stephen Umar were returning from the market at about 7:34 pm on Monday when they were ambushed by gunmen suspected to be killer herdsmen at Nad community of the Local Government Area.
A source close to the community disclosed that the gunmen opened fire on them and killed Elisha on the spot and injured two others adding that immediately after the incident, the gunmen disappeared into a nearby hill.
The pioneer Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Abdkadri Orire is dead.
He died on Tuesday at the age of 87.
In a condolence message, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq described the late jurist as an exemplary leader who distinguished himself as an erudite legal scholar, researcher, Muslim community leader, and development activist.
“Today, our state lost of one of its finest jurists, a founding father, and indeed a national statesman, retired Justice Abdul Kadir Orire (CON), who was the pioneer Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal between 1975 and 1999. He died at the ripe age of 87.

The Pioneer Grand Khadi of Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal between 1975 and 1999, retired Justice AbdulKadir Orire (CON), has died.
A statement by the state government, signed by the chief press secretary to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye, said that the elder statesman passed, on Tuesday evening, at the ripe age of 87.
Governor Abdulrazaq, who said that Kwara State has lost of one of its finest jurists, described Justice Oriire as a founding father, and indeed a national statesman.
“With total submission to the will of Almighty Allaah who is the giver and taker of life, I join all our people in Ilorin and across Kwara and Kogi States to mourn the passing of this exemplary leader who distinguished himself as an erudite legal scholar, researcher, Muslim community leader, and development activist.
