Do you think it still applies at all? would people potentially would members of congress potentially pay a political price for these projects being shut down? there is still a price to pay. look, our politics have become a lot more tribal. so people are less pragmatic about supporting their members of congress, and certainly there are overarching concerns out there like military funding, like deficit spending that do require the attention of congress. but, look, republicans got to call this honest. the truth is the president probably could have gotten a lot more than $3.6 billion for border infrastructure if he had negotiated a bipartisan deal on immigration. and there are great opportunities out there. a lot of democrats, even a good number of republicans want to solve the daca issue. other coalitions understand that funding border security is important. so there is a deal out there. the president just hasn t been able to close it. and after all, he said he was the great deal make ....
And to some extent a circle the way gone approach. the reality is the in 2018 we saw in the midterm election, red republicans seats in key suburbs in states that donald trump needs to carry in 2020. those were flipping. not because the economy was tanking. these republicans were being beaten by democrats. in part because of the president s language. the racist language. was pulling down a lot of the republican candidates. this idea racist can be a rallying cry. for president trump with his own voters. just hasn t been proven to be true. in the areas the republicans really need to win in 2020. van jones, last week the president said that it doesn t help him to be called a white supremacist by democrats. watch this. i don t think it helps. ....
Former fbi special agent manny gomez is with us. manny, you see a pattern here. what do you see? i see something that is happening that is very suspicious. these deaths have occurred at different resorts. just hasn t been one resort. it s been at several different resorts in a short amount of time. the main suspect is methyl alcohol. if that is the case, obviously the fbi is there using their expert toxicology equipment to try to identify if that is the case. if it was methyl alcohol or if it was another sort of poisonous substance that could have been introduced. neil: that s replacing expensive stuff in a lot of courtesy bars and everything else at these resorts. if you re right, it was bad, very dangerous. it s criminal in nature. ....
