Police have finished their investigation into the attempted murder of Finns Party official Pekka Kataja at his home in July last year. Two men are suspected of the attack, including Jyväskylä city councillor Teemu Torssonen, who denies involvement. He had been elected to the council on the Finns Party ticket in 2017, but was expelled from the party in 2019. The other man chaired Torssonen s aborted campaign for parliament in 2019, and is also suspected of aggravated firearms offences.
