It has historically been recognized as a liberal circuit. Along this line, former President Donald Trump railed against the Ninth Circuit and Judge Tigar in particular for ruling against his border policy.
Along with calling Judge Tigar “a disgrace” and “an Obama judge,” Trump said the Ninth Circuit was “really something we have to take a look at because it’s not fair” and “[e]very case that gets filed in the Ninth Circuit we get beaten.” Trump was also able to appoint many judges on the Ninth Circuit moving it farther away from its liberal past. The Supreme Court recently handed down its verdict in
Facebook, Inc. v. Deguid, a statutory interpretation case about section 227(a)(1) of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991. The Act prohibits the use of “automatic telephone dialing system[s]” to make calls “to any telephone number assigned to a . . . cellular telephone service” without the “prior consent of the called party.” At issue was the statutory definition of an autodialer:

“SPAC” is neck-and-neck with “NFT” for the title of “acronym for thing people kind of know about and believe makes you rich.” Since NBC recently documented NFTs, it’s on us here at The Juris Lab to demystify SPACs to the world.
SPAC stands for special purpose acquisition company. It is a species of merger and acquisition. A group of investors will assemble a team to run a SPAC and then allow the public to invest in the SPAC. The invested money is then used by the SPAC team to look for privately held companies to purchase and take public. If the SPAC’s team doesn’t find a good target that the investors approve of, then generally the investors’ money is returned. The process can take a few months or a few years. ....
