Rey Fenix is reportedly dealing with an injury. AEW recently released the full list of participants for the Casino Battle Royal which will take place at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 30, 2021. One name noticeably absent from that list was Rey Fenix. In an update from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that Fenix is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury and is currently out of action. It is unclear at this stage what he is dealing with or when he will be back in the ring. Fenix has his last AEW match on the April 14 episode of Dynamite on TNT. ....
Former Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has signed a multi-year extension with Impact Wrestling. She revealed the news on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated podcast Friday, saying her decision was fueled by her feeling like there s more for her do in Impact that she wouldn t be able to do in other companies. Grace is currently one-half of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions with new signee Rachael Ellering, having won the titles at last month s Rebellion. They are set for a rematch with former champions Fire N Flava at next Saturday s Under Siege. A pro since 2011, the 25-year-old signed a two-year deal with Impact in October 2018. She ended Taya Valkyrie s 377-day reign as Knockouts Champion in January 2020 and held the title until Deonna Purrazzo defeated her for it at that July s Slammiversary. ....
Rebellion Was Reportedly The Most Successful Impact Pay-Per-View In Several Years (Photo Credit: Impact) Last Sunday’s Rebellion pay-per-view from Impact Wrestling appears to have been the most successful pay-per-view for the promotion in several years, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Based on early data, it’s estimated that Rebellion drew around 9,300 TV pay-per-view buys as of early in this week. There is no data to make an estimation on streaming numbers as of today, but streaming buys were believed to be a much larger number than the 9,300 that TV PPV drew. Actual buys from streaming providers are not available just yet, but it was noted that the streaming numbers as of the start of Rebellion were ahead of the total number of buys for any Impact show since Anthem purchased the company from Dixie Carter’s group in January 2017, and it was the largest streaming number in company history. ....
