We wrote this in response of a New York publication, 1619, by black journalests and others, it redefined Americas Birthday from 1776 to 1619 at the time when slaves, 20 slaves first arrived on the shores of virginia and it goes on to say that the revolutionary war was more to defend slavery. It also made other false claims, but it also tried to redefine america as systematically racist and that all whites are villains to and that all blacks are victims and it offers a very dire picture of the country. It also makes the false claims that the current challenges facing many in the black community, crime, are a direct legacy of the shadow of slavery and Jim Crowe. And since the messenger here was black and we thought the Counter Narrative should also be authored by blacks. But we did not want to author a point by Point Debate or rebuttal. He facilitated a program on julius rosenwald, and efforts to establish a national Park Complex focusing on the establishment of the rosenwald schools in the american south. Then, he turned his attention to addressing concerns of a commission established by Chicagos Mayor Lightfoot on statues deemed problematic. These included statues honoring Abraham Lincoln, John Logan, and ulysses s. Grant. The initial webinar in the series was entitled why we , honor lincoln.
