A new restaurant named Indie will take over the former Greenhouse Tavern space.
CLEVELAND, Ohio A music-themed American dining concept called Indie will fill a gap in downtown Cleveland’s East 4th Street neighborhood this fall.
The former Greenhouse Tavern space at 2038 East 4th St. closed in February 2020, and this year it will become Indie a new concept from local restaurateurs and husband-and-wife duo Gabe Zeller and Julie Mesenburg. The names are behind a string of other recently opened local eateries: Avo Modern Mexican in Ohio City, Char Whiskey Bar + Grille in Rocky River, Lago in Lakeside Chautauqua and Barra in Amherst and Sandusky. (Zeller noted that he and Mesenburg recently sold their stakes in the Barra restaurants.) ....

OHIO CITY, Ohio Any day now, Gabriel Zeller and spouse Julie Mesenburg will open Avo Modern Mexican in Ohio City.
Since taking the space over from Bakersfield Tacos, which closed in March, the pair has been readying the restaurant for opening day. The goal is to be serving customers before the end of the year.
The already attractive property got an additional boost thanks to new hickory flooring, furniture and paint – a cheery avocado green that does much to brighten up the formerly woodsy interior and a cement wraparound bar in the center of the space has been refinished with a slick, smooth epoxy. ....
