Portsmouth Herald To the Editor: Senator Gannon does not have your back! We must take issue with the Letter to the Editor of 7/2/21 by Senators Morse and Bradley. Senator Gannon supported reducing state revenues by hundreds of millions of dollars into the future resulting in reduction of vital services and downshifting of expenses to local taxpayers. The letter hails the accomplishment of decreased state spending but also increased spending. So, which is it? These spending schemes do not add up and it’s your taxes that are affected. In addition, the Republican education budget supported by Senator Gannon maintains the inequitable support for public education affecting property poor towns while permitting local tax dollars to support private religious education through the “Education Savings Accounts.” That’s not the New Hampshire way. ....
EXETER The iconic Ioka theater marquee that was part of the fabric of downtown for 80 years will once again shine brightly, but it will be in Cincinnati, Ohio. The American Sign Museum has officially accepted the 19.6-foot-wide triangular theater marquee into its collection. The museum is known to house the largest collection of signs in the United States covering more than 100 years of American sign history. “This museum is incredible and when I first saw it, I fell in love with it and said, ‘This is where we ve got to get the marquee,’” said Laurie A.
