Former Shell executive sues alleging pregnancy, disability discrimination

HOUSTON A former Shell executive is alleging she faced discrimination due to her pregnancy and colon cancer diagnosis and was terminated in retaliation. Julia Shur filed a compliant April 12 in Harris County District Court against Shell Exploration & Production Company alleging violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act Shur began working for Shell in October of 2015, as a general manager, earned more than $650,000 per year and led and closed multi-million dollar transactions for the company, according to her suit. Shur claims in the fall of 2016, she began reporting to a new manager, Scott Porter, and from October 2017 through April 2018, took maternity leave.
