mjacobson@tahoedailytribune.com Residents and business owners of the Lake Tahoe Basin are preparing for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9, after missing out on activities last year due to COVID-19, although florists were able to reopen just in time for that weekend. Restaurants are opening their doors to patrons, offering bountiful brunches and quality family time. On the South Shore, Riva Grill will be hosting their Mother’s Day Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations filled up quickly after the restaurant released their a la carte menu, featuring meals such as a seafood platter or biscuits and gravy.

Robert R. Buescher Jr., 72, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in San Angelo. Memorial Vigil and Rosary will be at 5:00 PM Saturday, March 6, 2021, a reception will follow at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Was born September 12, 1948 in Lubbock and moved to San Angelo shortly after his birth. He graduated from San Angelo Central and spent most of his life in the San Angelo area. Robert enjoyed the cattle business and started raising Polled Hereford cattle in the 1960 s with his father near Christoval. Over the years he traveled throughout the United States and Mexico with the family irrigation business. Starting in the 1990 s he helped with ranch operations including cattle and hunting near Marathon. Friends and family will remember his stories and humor. A special thanks to his care giver and companion Julia Castillo along with the doctors and staff at Shannon Hospital for their loving care.
