that s near rampart reservoir. there are evacuations due to a massive wildfire in southern colorado called the junkins fire. already more than 13,000 acres have burned there. hundreds of homes are threatened. it s burning near west cliff, southwest of pueblo. that shows you right there, we have team coverage at 5:00. meteorologist lauren whitney tracking the dangerous fire conditions. want to start though with matt. those flames really t this morning. in a matter of 12 hours we went from a grass fire about an acre to 13,300 acres. it exploded here behind me outside of the town of west cliff. evacuations in place. and more people are getting ready to evacuate. reporter: evacuees grabbing what they can a getting out. beyond scary. i keep praying the wind will die down. they said it was a small grass by the time they called 911, they were already being told to get out fast. we got out just in time. we could see the glow and the fire coming over the hill. so grabbed wha
the community meeting starts at 7:30. like i said folks already starting to gather. live in florence, matt kroschel, cbs4 mountain newsroom. human remains found near the eldora ski resort. the boulder county coroner has identified them as those of irvin mitler of denver. someone found skeletal remains inside a boot back in june. a month later the other boot and more remains turned up. at that time authorities said the remains were likely those of someone and could ve been there for months. police say an officer who was attacked by a man should have shot him. officers say she didn t fire because she was afraid even doing the right thing these days would be controversial. this is the news across america. police video shows the officer yelling commands. huff tackles the female cop. other officers tried to get him slammed the officers had onto the pavement until she was unconscious. another officer was finally able to tase and subdue the suspect. with a save was high on pcp.
piece of broken glass. a jefferson county crf said the broken glass is considered a deadly weapon. our school is a really good school but some of the people make really poor choices. reporter: officials say the bullies have targeted for of their peers for months. those victims are 14 and 15- year-old students who also attend evergreen high school. while officials would not talk on camera the students we spoke with say staff and faculty go out of their way to try and prevent bung the best in the state that has lowest bullying. this is the first incident i ve heard of. we have posters everywhere. that really helps our school. but some people just ignore it and make irresponsible stupid decisions. reporter: a spokesperson says in addition to the criminal charges the district suspended the two players from school and kicked them off the football team. what we don t know right now is the motivation behind the deputies say their investigation into this is ongoing and the su
