Funded by a $1.25 million National Science Foundation grant, the new fellowship program will support research on how to reach more students from diverse communities with science, technology, engineering and math education.
UArizona Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives has launched Project LISTO to introduce Hispanic students to STEM majors and opportunities and provide a framework for other Hispanic-Serving Institutions to do the same.
The grant from the Department of Education will allow students in science, technology, engineering and math disciplines to get earlier access to hands-on research and learning communities and will provide support for faculty to redesign courses.
