Hull schools forms committee on possible middle school closure

The consultants presented the report to the Hull Board of Selectmen during a joint meeting on April 7. Lemnios said at that meeting that the schools should set up a working group, including himself and Kuehn, to work through what a consolidation process would look like.
Hull officials said during that meeting they could use the Memorial Middle School as a new town hall, as the current town hall is in need of expensive repairs and is too small to hold all the town s departments.
During that meeting, school committee member Stephanie Peters said the town was trying to foist its problem, of a dilapidated town hall, onto the school district and that the school board needed to deliberate in public, about what it thinks of the consolidation plans. ....

Dozens of residents appear before council to oppose proposed crematorium

Hull, Weymouth schools turn to PR firm for investigations

The company subcontracts the legwork and serves as more of an overseer, but some experts say working double duty as independent investigator and public relations firm raises the specter of a conflict of interest.

“(Public relations firms) should be seeing that report at the same time as the general public,” he said.
Joseph said even the perception that something is untoward can be just as damning as actual wrongful behavior.
“Something we teach our students constantly is to operate on the highest level of ethical behavior, and not just because of the rules,” Joseph said. “Really, it’s far deeper than that, because we deal in perception, so you have to go above and beyond the rules.” ....
