Last month s ruling by Circuit Judge Judge Willliam Stone, granted a request for summary judgment and appeared to have decided the lawsuit in Ashley s favor. The Clerk of Courts website shows the case closed as of Nov. 13. 
Stone decided to let stand a determination of a Personnel Standards and Review Board that in 2018 upheld the sheriff s firing of the three men. In his ruling he said the deputies who brought the action against Ashley had exhausted any remaining claims for relief and  will take nothing from this action.   
But Mead said that by taking his clients complaint for illegal termination to the First District Court of Appeals he will finally get them the hearing they ve been fighting to arrange since the case was filed.  ....
