Supreme Court Judge Healey Potani is reported to be in stable condition as he continues to receive treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital after being involved in a road accident Saturday afternoon on the M1 road near Matindi in Blantyre.
Chileka Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector Peter Mchiza, has told Zodiak on Sunday morning that both the judge and the driver of the coaster s condition is improving.
It is said that the Judge s car, Registration Number JUD 7/MG 595 AK, was hit by a coaster Registration Number MH 6762 as he was trying to drive into the M1 road from the earth road at 17 miles near Matindi in Blantyre.

Chileka Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector Peter Mchiza, has confirmed the development saying both the judge and the driver of the coaster’s condition is improving.
According to reports, a vehicle Registration Number JUD 7/MG 595 AK belonging to Judge Potani, was hit by a coaster Registration Number MH 6762 as the car was trying to make its way into the M1 road from the earth road at 17 miles near Matindi in Blantyre.
Police in Blantyre have said they have effected investigations against Judge Healey Potani of the Supreme Court on the allegations that he assaulted a police officer who was on duty at his home.
National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera confirmed however he said the matter is still under investigations hence more details cannot be said.
Sergeant Emmanuel Sinda is the said Police Officer who has lodge a complaint against Judge Potani claiming that he assaulted him.
However the reasons that lead Potani to assault the said officer remains unknown.
The incident allegedly took place on Monday.
Potani, chaired the panel of five Judges who presided over the presidential elections case which were seen being nullified on February 3, 2020, citing massive irregularities.
