DA Mary Carmack-Altwies Disappointed In Judge Jason Lidyard’s Rejection Of Plea In Triple Homicide Case From the Office of the District Attorney: SANTA FE The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office is disappointed in Judge Jason Lidyard’s decision Thursday to reject the plea of life plus nine years in the case of State v. Gage. Gage attempted to plead guilty to a brutal triple homicide. District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies stated, “The victims’ families were very clear with us that they do not want to go through another trial. The last one was traumatic for them, and they whole-heartedly agreed that this plea was justice in their eyes.” ....

  A Santa Cruz man with a lengthy list of felony convictions found himself again on the wrong side of the law Dec. 4 as he attempted to flee a Santa Fe County deputy who tried to conduct a traffic stop on his Ford F150 pickup.    Deputy Jacqueline Avilia is cited in the criminal information as observing the truck driven by Miguel Espinoza, 37, swerve as he drove east on State Road 76. She activated her emergency lights, initiated a traffic stop and Espinoza sped away.    Avilia states she lost sight of Espinozaâs truck but as she rounded a turn at the intersection of State Road 76 and Calle Deaguero she found the truck on its side, having hit a tree. ....
