'Attack' accused appear in court


Five teens and two young men were involved in a serious and frightening public order incident where a male teen was attacked, kicked and dragged to the ground in a fast food restaurant, it has been alleged, at Balbriggan District Court.
Frank Carbraley (19) is accused of being the main instigator of the public order incident which resulted in customers and young children fleeing the scene into the restaurant s toilets.
It is alleged a fight broke out at McDonalds in Balbriggan, Co Dublin and the injured party was attacked by a number of males, dragged to the ground and had his wallet stolen, Balbriggan District Court heard. ....

Mum 'shaken and scared' by woman climbing on balcony, court hears


A WOMAN left another shaken and scared after she climbed on to her balcony to get into a neighbouring apartment after being locked out, a court heard.
Rosemarie White (34) said she was only crossing over the victim s balcony to get into her cousin s apartment and had meant no harm.
Judge Dermot Dempsey imposed a two-month sentence suspended for two years and ordered White to have no contact with the injured party.
White, of Dundaniel Road, Coolock, was found guilty of trespass at Boroimhe Blackthorn, Swords, last June 5.
The victim told Swords District Court the accused had knocked on her door. ....

Man avoids jail for 'despicable act' of stealing from grandfather's bank account


A MAN who breached his position of trust in a bank stole €7,000 from his grandfather’s bank account as a result of drug use has avoided a prison sentence after he was deemed suitable for community service work.
Darren Andrews (28) also substituted real bank notes with fake notes and stole money from another customer’s account in what a judge called a “despicable act.”
He stole a total of €8,420 from the two bank accounts while he was employed by Permanent TSB.
The thefts occurred on dates from January 3, 2017 to April 24, 2017 and only came to light when a staff member noticed the discrepancies and the fake notes, Balbriggan District Court heard. ....

'Look out' gets fined


Convicted criminal, Wayne Bradley - who was jailed for his role as a look out in a botched €900,000 cash-in-transit robbery - avoided a no insurance rap but has been convicted and fined for non production of his insurance documents.
The younger brother of the so-called Alan Fatpuss Bradley - who also served time in prison for the botched cash-in-transit raid in 2007 in Celbridge, Co Kildare - claimed he was never asked to produce his insurance when he was stopped by Garda Kevin Fitzpatrick at Station Road in Lusk on October 26 last year.
Appearing before Judge Dermot Dempsey at Balbriggan District Court, the 41- year-old Finglas criminal, told the judge I have insurance. I was never asked to produce. ....
