Police said they received a report at about 7:50 p.m. Saturday of a break-in of an unoccupied home in the 19000 block of California Street near Nine Mile Road and Interstate-94 in St. Clair Shores.
James Biernat, who was appointed to the bench in 2011, was first named chief judge in 2015 after John Foster retired. Biernat also serves as chief judge of Macomb Probate Court and both divisions of the county court, 42nd District Court, in Romeo and New Baltimore.
