The Labour MP Rosianne Cutajar will not be returned to the Cabinet of ministers, after a parliamentary standards investigation found irregularities with her role as a broker in a property sale for Yorgen Fenech, the Tumas magnate accused of masterminding the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Cutajar, who resigned as parliamentary secretary after MaltaToday broke the story of her role in the Mdina property sale, was informed by Prime Minister Robert Abela of his decision at a meeting at Castille. ....

Public inquiry into Daphne Caruana Galizia's murder continues


The public inquiry into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia continues on Friday. 
Tax Commissioner Marvin Gaerty will be giving his testimony behind-closed-doors as it deals with private persons and other investigations. 
The judges said that any parts of the testimony that they feel are of public interest will be duly published.
The public inquiry is tasked with, amongst other things, determining whether the State did all it could to prevent the murder from happening.

The Nationalist Party has said that Prime Minister Robert Abela’s inaction over claims surrounding parliamentary secretary Rosianne Cutajar are leading to impunity.
The Times of Malta on Sunday reported that Cutajar had pocketed €9,000 from a €3.1 million Mdina property deal with Tumas magnate and alleged Daphne Caruana Galizia murder mastermind, Yorgen Fenech.
Last December MaltaToday had reported that Cutajar and her political aide had received some €100,000 in brokers’ fees for the sale of the Mdina property. ....
