USMNT v. Panama, 2020 friendly: What we learned

Apparently, this international camp will be defined by contrast. The United States Men’s National Team came out against Wales and thoroughly controlled the game, but couldn’t grab a winning goal. Against Panama, the team didn’t have that same control, but was able to bag goal after goal, to the tune of 6-2. Personally, I think the latter is more fun to watch.
As with so many of these friendlies, this match against Panama comes with its own caveats. Panama appears to be on the down swing, with pivotal players like Blas Pérez, Jaime Penedo, and Luis Tejada coming to the end of their careers. It’s not the same Panama team that pipped the U.S. to a World Cup spot in 2017. In spite of their decline, Panama remains fairly representative for much of the middle-talent in CONCACAF. Union City resident Juan Tejada, his alleged co-conspirators, and his alleged supplier have been charged with various narcotics offenses along with his intricate web of nearly two
dozen associates.
Following a year-long investigation, law enforcement arrested 20 people, dismantling a large-scale narcotics trafficking network spanning Hudson, Essex, Bergen, and Union Counties and New York City.
Officers seized more than 9,400 grams of fentanyl, over 3,400 grams of cocaine, over 1700 grams of methamphetamine, over 800 grams of fentanyl pills, about eight grams of heroin, a loaded gun, and $118,395.
The street value of the drugs is approximately $1 million.

A Union City-based drug ring used family-operated businesses and a network of couriers to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and other narcotics across North Jersey and New York City for several years, authorities announced.
Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies announced Wednesday a year-long investigation ended with 20 arrests, as well as the seizure of over $1 million worth of narcotics, $118,000 cash, and a loaded firearm.
