Czech brewer that has been in a long legal dispute with US giant Anheuser-Busch over use of the
Budweiser brand, increased output to record levels last year, as the Covid-19 pandemic saw people drink less in bars and more at home. Budejovicky Budvar, a 125-year-old state-owned brewery, said on Thursday that its output rose three per cent to 1.73 million hectoliters in 2020. The brewer’s exports were up almost 3.5 per cent last year, according to director Petr Dvorak.

Former Aston Villa and Celtic manager Jozef Venglos has died at the age of 84.
Venglos made history as the first manager from outside the UK and Republic of Ireland to take charge of a club in the English First Division when he was appointed Aston Villa boss in 1990.
He spent just one disappointing season in charge and went on to manage Celtic during the 1998-99 campaign, while his career also included spells in charge of the Czechoslovakia and Slovakia national teams.
A statement on the Celtic website read: Everyone at Celtic is extremely saddened to hear of the passing of our former manager, Dr Jozef Venglos, who has died at the age of 84. ....

Former Celtic manager Dr. Jozef Venglos has passed away at the age of 84 [Guardian].
The nomadic Slovak manager took charge of the Bhoys for the 98-99 season, following the departure of Wim Jansen. In 1990, he had become the first non-British or Irish coach to manage in the English First Division, with Aston Villa.
Dr. Jo is known by Celtic supporters primarily for two events. Firstly, the signing of Lubo Moravcik, and secondly the famous 5-1 dismantling of Rangers in November 1998 [YouTube]. Although Dr. Jo couldn’t bring trophies to the club during his spell, he is still remembered fondly by the Celtic family. ....
