From “met with concern” to “amazing progress,” Montcalm Community College appears to have turned in the right direction in addressing a concern previously outlined by the Higher Learning Commission. During Tuesday’s meeting of the Montcalm Community College Board, members of the board were presented with an update regarding work to address an issue that was previously brought before it last October.
The “mutually agreed” upon resignation of the former vice president of academic affairs at Montcalm Community College last November resulted in the college’s Board of Trustees agreeing to pay him his full salary and benefits for an entire year, totaling more than $130,000. Rob Spohr The MCC Board of Trustees voted 6-0 last December to accept a separation agreement between the college and Rob Spohr, the vice president of academic affairs since 2010.
