The Capital Cab Company delivered more than $2,000 worth of toys Thursday to the Ron Wood Center in Carson City as a yearly contribution to Toys for Tots.

When families come to the Ron Wood Family Resource Center in Carson City, they are typically in desperate conditions. “We see 80 percent of our clients in the last couple of weeks of the month,” explained Joyce Buckingham, executive director. “They have reached the end of their SNAP benefits or their social security or other benefits.”
Raynna Jackson began helping with Toys for Tots at the Ron Wood center before Thanksgiving in order to fulfill her CHS Senior Project graduation requirement; she decided to help give underprivileged children a Merry Christmas. She started by putting boxes at CHS and her mother’s place of employment, Natel Company.
Balloon Nevada is sponsoring free hot air balloon rides to benefit Toys for Tots in Carson, Douglas, Storey and West Lyon counties. Tethered balloon rides will take place on December 10th from 7am to 1pm (weather permitting).
