On Monday, the Granite City Police Department responded at 10:52 p.m. to the 1900 block of Joy Ave where a vehicle had struck a residence and killed Virginia Ann Ohren, 73, of Granite City, according to Maj. Nick Novacich of the Granite City Police. Officers responding to the area found a vehicle had struck the residence and located the vehicle’s driver, Jonathan M. Beasley, 47, of Granite City, who was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.
