UVA professors JoVia Armstrong and A.D. Carson and seven members of their Black Music Composition and Performance Ensemble will put on a special concert at The Stage this Saturday evening. The course focused on song composition and recording techniques from the lens of producers.
The final concerts of the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia’s season will give composers and guest artists from the UVa Department of Music some time to shine.
UVA Music Faculty members Ayn Balija and I-Jen Fang will stop by Folk & Beyond Thursday afternoon to discuss the "Women in Music Residency" the week of March 18. The week closes with a concert featuring them both. Folk & Beyond airs Thursday afternoon from 4-7 at 91.1FM and streaming at wtju.net.
