Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Country Squire Lakes very early Friday morning, but deputies say the driver failed to pull over and fled at a high rate of speed. After a short pursuit, another officer was able to intercept and stop the getaway car at around 12:30 a.m.
The driver, Terry Day, 20, and passenger, Joshua Hartwell, 36, both of North Vernon, were arrested. A loaded 9mm handgun, 10 grams of methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana were allegedly found in the vehicle.
Day was charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of a firearm, possession of meth, and possession of marijuana.
