A teenage knife thug who stabbed a man through the heart, leaving him in a year-long coma, before posting a drill rap bragging about it was jailed for 14 years. Joshua Erorh, 18, of Courtney Road, Grays, stabbed 21-year-old Ahmad Torfi twice in the chest outside a takeaway in New Cross, south east London, on March 24 last year. The victim remains unconscious in hospital. Erorh was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, in November. A court today heard how Erorh, then 17 and linked to the notorious 814 gang, targeted Torfi because of his ties to the rival Monson gang. Paramedics were forced to perform open heart surgery on Mr Torfi as he lay on the pavement. His heart stopped beating and, as a result, his brain was starved of oxygen - leading to permanent brain damage. ....

Joshua Erorh, 18, stabbed a 21-year-old Ahmad Torfi twice in the chest, piercing his heart, outside After Hours takeaway on New Cross Road, south east London at 11.50pm on 14 March 2020. Mr Torfi was saved by paramedics who did open heart surgery on the pavement, but suffered permanent brain damage because his heart stopped from the attack. The Met’s violence intervention unit has applied for 100 criminal behaviour orders against offenders aged between 14 and 25. Sergeant Keeley Tye said it is also monitoring 77 ex-prisoners who have been released with restrictions. Police now have powers to vet lyrics and videos of individuals before they are posted on social media platforms when a specific part of a criminal behaviour order or gang injunction. He is banned from rapping about rivals or specific attacks, although he can refer to violence generally. ....
