Frieze New York might have had to present a pared-down fair at The Shed this year, with a limited number of timed-entry tickets and strict protocols in place due to the pandemic, but the necessities of safety also added an air of exclusivity to the fair. The crowded and rushed atmosphere of the previous events on Randall’s Island gave way to a setting that allowed visitors and the art room to breathe.
Another layer of exclusivity that was introduced this year was the Frieze 91 membership programme. The multi-tiered offerings consist of the Select Membership, which includes access to one local fair as well as all of Frieze’s online programming, priced at $1,260 per year for an individual and $2,100 a pair; the All Access Membership, which includes attendance to all three fairs in New York, Lo ....

With vaccinations well underway and the possibility of a social summer on the horizon, L.A. s social club scene is reinvigorated after a difficult year that saw many doors close permanently.
With Governor Gavin Newsom announcing on April 6 that California would be ready to fully open by June 15, the fate of Los Angeles many social clubs which includes three Soho House locations as well as West Hollywood s San Vicente Bungalows is looking up. For proof of this optimism, look no farther than The Britely, which was originally slated to open in the spring of 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic and construction setbacks, and finally opened its doors on April 2. ....

Betting on the Future of Social Experiences, Immersive Photography Museum Fotografiska Is Merging With Private Arts Club NeueHouse
Both companies have new branches opening this year.

The photography museum Fotografiska announced last week that it has merged with NeueHouse, the co-working and social membership space headquartered in New York. 
Moving forward, the two organizations will co-exist under a new parent company, CultureWorks, which brands itself as the “preeminent global growth platform for culture, experience, and hospitality brands,” according to a press release. ....
