homes. the coastal fire broke out around 3 o clock yesterday afternoon near the city of laguna niguel. quickly spreading to about 200 acres, gusty ocean winds drove the flames into a densely packed neighborhood, torching palm trees and dry brush. we have embers cast very deep down into those canyons. we saw several palm trees that had embers burning in them. we had embers enter addicks attic spaces through vents wildfire season as we know it is now 12 months a year. it s not just the summer months. and we all need to really be prepared. firefighters say steep terrain has made it difficult to run hose lines and position teams on the ground to fight the fire. so they re relying on air attacks as you can see there with planes and helicopters dropping fire retardant and water. governor gavin newsom says he secured a grant from fema to help ensure resources to help fight the coastal fire. coming up at 12 15, we re going to have a live report with our reporter on the gr ....
