AJ 40 under 40: IF DO

Following its competition-winning design for the 2017 Dulwich Picture Gallery Pavilion, the AJ 40 under 40 practice has won a growing number of larger-scale commissions
The three co-founders of Bermondsey-based IF DO first met in 2002 at the University of Edinburgh. But it wasn’t until 12 years later that they reconverged to form a practice whose intention was to create ‘diverse, generous and inclusive’ projects that had ‘a positive impact on users, the environment and the surrounding community’.
Over the past six years IF DO’s directors Al Scott, 36, Sarah Castle, 37, and Thomas Bryans,36, have been busy delivering on these aims and on the studio’s ‘social ambition that goes beyond the buildings [it is] working on’. ....
