Fox21Online January 8, 2021 Authorities say 18-year-old Joseph James Fohrenkam has been charged with second-degree manslaughter. According to the criminal complaint, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Deputies and Fond du Lac Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Giiniw Road in Brevator Township. When officers arrived at the scene they located a deceased male, later identified as Peterson, in the back seat of a white Chevrolet pick-up truck. The victim appeared to have a gunshot wound below his left eye. According to the criminal complaint, while investigating the shooting officers learned that three other individuals were in the truck at the time of the shooting but had fled prior to police arriving at the scene. ....

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says Joseph James Peterson, of Cloquet, was found deceased outside of a residence on Giiniw Road after deputies responded to reports of someone being shot around 1:19 a.m. Monday. Authorities have identified the suspect in the shooting as 18-year-old Joseph James Fohrenkam. Fohrenkam is believed to be on the run with his mother, Littlefawn Fohrenkam. An arrest warrant for second-degree manslaughter was issued Tuesday according to the Sheriff’s Office. ....
