The council voted to forward Lynchâs budget for the next fiscal year with one amendment. Community Development Services will receive an additional $31,000 that they had requested for the next fiscal year. Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch presented his proposed fiscal year 2021-22, $41,241,000 budget for the second time during the meeting. Lynch told the council that his proposed budget is roughly $3.1 million dollars higher than the previous year. Pension contributions, cost-of-living-adjustments, increased wages for department heads and additional transfers were the reason for the additional $3.1 million, Lynch said.
