With so much of today s emphasis on technological subject matter, the humanities often come up short. Our future depends on better understanding the importance of history and world cultures, which requires committed preparation beginning in our early years.  
Congratulations and appreciation to the three students  Greta VanZetten, Cameron Csapos and Joseph Fickel who were West Michigan s only participants in this year s national competition which tested their knowledge of global affairs. 
May others be inspired by their initiative. ....
