Tsüngkamnyu festival celebration culminates

A three-day Tsüngkamnyu festival of the Yimkhiung celebrated at Yimkhiung Heritage Village Mündün concluded on January 17 with Imtichoba, MLA, as the guest of honour. According to a DIPR report, speaking at the festival, Imtichoba said Tsüngkamnyu was a festival of forgiveness and called upon the gathering to say “no to drugs and yes to Tsüngkamnyu”. Nagas are lethargic; government servants in Nagaland hardly spend 5-6 hrs. in office, says Supongnukshi Ao

Our Correspondent Kohima, July 30 (EMN): People in other countries have a good work culture but Nagas, on the other hand, are lethargic, lamented Supongnukshi Ao, Chief Conservator of Forest, Environment, Biodiversity and Research. Sharing his experience at the 35th Freshers’ Day of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, on Saturday, Ao said the Japanese and Germans could work for more than 13-14 hours a day even during the COVID-19 pandemic, while government servants in Nagaland hardly remain in their offices for 5-6 hours daily. He urged students to focus on their talents and capacities, while reminding that about 6,000 youth have registered unemployed in the state. ‘High expectations on jobs in government sector should be lowered as it may leave us frustrated,’ he said. He added that migrants are toiling for survival in Nagaland while many youngsters from the state are loitering around aimlessly. Nagaland Chief Minister inaugurates Norman Putsure College in Chumoukedima

Our Reporter Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, on Wednesday inaugurated Norman Putsure College, a new college at Chumoukedima founded in memory of late Norman Putsure. Sharing about Putsure, who was his childhood friend, Rio said that as a bureaucrat (IAS officer), he had always worked on mission mode, and any assignment, be it official or personal, his approach was always to see the challenges positively. ‘His belief and trust in the innate potential of the youth and how to garner these potentials into positive outcomes was always a hallmark in his approach to life,’ he said. He appreciated the dedicated efforts of Putsure’s wife late Akruzo, his children Seyievinuo, Aseiu and Saneinuo and family members for establishing this college in his memory to celebrate the life of late Norman Putsure.
