Muntinlupa LGU to start using Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine

The Muntinlupa City government will start inoculating residents with the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine from the national government.
It received 1,170 vials, equivalent to 7,020 doses, of the Pfizer-BioNTech brand Thursday and will administer these from May 14 to 18 at Ayala Malls South Park in Alabang.
On Thursday, officials from the Department of Health (DOH) and National Vaccination Operations Center joined Mayor Jaime Fresnedi in observing the Pfizer-BioNTech simulation activity at Ayala Malls South Park.
Witnessing the event were DOH Disease Prevention and Control Bureau director Dr. Napoleon Arevalo, NVOC execs Dr. Shirly Pador and Dr. Sarah Lazaga, DOH Dir. Gloria Balboa, DOH Dir. Ma. FOR two consecutive weeks, Muntinlupa City held virtual town hall meetings to drum up high participation in its forthcoming Covid vaccination program. Invited to the separate meetings with the theme Bakunado, Protektado were representatives of homeowners groups, religious groups, civic groups, Sangguniang Kabataan, the Gender Development Office and the City Administrator s Office.
During the first meeting held February 10, the resource speakers were Infection Prevention and Control for Committee Chair Charissa Borja-Tabora of Research Institute for Tropical Medicine and Jesusa Joyce Cirunay of the Food and Drug Administration. Ms. Borja-Tabora underscored the safety of vaccines, the process of clinical trials, and the role of vaccines in protecting individuals and communities. Ms. Cirunay discussed the FDA s Emergency Use Authorization and the stringent process and policies for the approval of vaccines. ....

Muntinlupa gov't seeks help from religious sector to increase interest in COVID-19 vaccination – Manila Bulletin

During the city’s COVID-19 Vaccine Virtual Town Hall Meeting, Muntinlupa City Health Office chief, Dr. Teresa Tuliao, asked religious group leaders to help promote the vaccination services of the government and encourage their congregation to get vaccinated.
At least 140 participants from religious groups, community organizations, and Sangguniang Kabataan attended the virtual meeting on Feb. 18 held in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH). 
DOH-Metro Manila Center for Health Development District Manager Officer Dr. Jose Mari Castro discussed COVID-19 management and underscored the importance of vaccines in protecting individuals and communities amid the pandemic.
Recently, Interior and Local Government Usec. Jonathan Malaya commended the city’s social mobilization strategies with the religious sector in promoting COVID-19 vaccination during Mass celebrations as part of local demand generation efforts.  ....
