WORCHESTER 2, SYRACUSE 1 / 10 INNINGS (BOX)
Jordan Yamamoto got the start for Syracuse in Friday evening’s game, and pitched generally pretty well despite not getting very deep into the game. Yamamoto allowed one run, on a solo homer to Worchester’s Marcus Wilson in the bottom of the second, in 4.1 innings of work, with eight strikeouts and three walks. Syracuse trailed 1-0 until the top of the seventh, when Quinn Brodey homered to tie the game. The game remained tied at 1-1 through the ninth and into extra innings. Syracuse failed to score in the top of the tenth, and Stephen Nogosek entered the game to try to keep the game tied. With one out in the inning, Nogosek walked Danny Santana and Chris Herrmann intentionally to load the bases and potentially set up a double play situation. Nogosek managed to get the second out in the inning, but subsequently walked Marcus Wilson to force in the winning run. The Syracuse Mets lost to the Worchester Red Sox 2-1. ....
