SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Mitchell outscored Rapid City Central 13-6 in the final quarter to pull away for a 48-40 victory in the consolation semifinals of the Girls Class AA State Basketball Tournament this afternoon.
The two teams were neck and neck and traded the lead several times before the Kernels pulled away in the final stanza.
After a quiet game against Sioux Falls Washington, Jordon Heckert scored 11 points to help lead the Cobblers. Her teammate Sadie Glade also scored 11.

STURGIS, S.D. Rapid City Central made it rain from three-point range on Saturday afternoon at West Gymnasium, downing the Sturgis Scoopers 73-40 in a Class AA matchup.
It was Senior Recognition Day, with the Scooper faithful honoring senior players Payton Hedderman, Elizabeth Ortiz, Makayla Keffeler, Trinity Legner, Megan Petrocco and student manager Paige Bradley.
