live where you live, this is abc7 news. tonight searchers are looking for a missing kayaker in the san francisco bay. good evening, i m eric thomas. thank you for joining us. the kayaker was in the water in south san francisco off oyster point. we have developing details. reporter: right now this search is being coordinated by the fire battalion chief sitting inside that red suv, and in the darkness there are a number of rescue boats from post sides of the bay involved in this search. they re searching for that kayaker who was reported missing this evening just before 6:00 p.m. right now we re confident we have a lot of resources out there and a lot of well trained folks with a lot of good technology. we re hoping for a good outcome. reporter: at one point there were eight rescue motor boats and two aircraft. they re searching a pretty extensive area stretching from candle stick point in san francisco all the way down to the san mateo bridge in foster city and beyond.
