The Marvelous Mundane features DC area artist couple Max-Karl & Ellen Verdon Winkler in their first joint exhibition. The exhibition contains prints, drawings, and paintings created by Max and Ellen over the last few years. Although the two artists have their own distinct styles, they both have a common fascination with the everyday sights of the world, and capturing the beauty that can be found even in decay and disorder. Ellen works in a painterly style, often emphasizing the shadows and tones of her subject matter. The ARTfactory presents Andria Bielski: In My Head Andria Bielski was raised in Manassas, VA and graduated from George Mason University with a concentration in Studio Arts. She took up residency in Haymarket to homeschool and raise her four children. Being an artist unexpectedly became her solace instead of her career goal when her second child, Sabrina, was diagnosed with a pervasive developmental delay that in later years turned into a diagnosis of severe Autism. Although Andria has worked as both a graphic designer and commissioned fine artist, she believes that her most authentic job as an artist is to be a storyteller. Autism is a very common story these days. ....

René was exposed to artists in the San Francisco Bay Area by his father who took him to studios to watch the masters of day creating beautiful works of art. The senior Dickerson had a dream for his son because he named him after surrealist René Magritte. René has a self-taught, natural ability for art that has developed to a masterful level. ....
