Letter to the editor: Brunswick school employees appreciate Wild Oats’ generosity Share I am incredibly privileged to work with elementary school children at Kate Furbish Elementary School. Just prior to February break, Brunswick School Department employees received a $10 gift certificate from Wild Oats Bakery that said, “Thank you for being our Community Heroes. Love, the Wild Oats Team.” There are 450 BSD employees. I’ve known the owners, Becky and David Shepherd, for years; our children went through the Brunswick school system together. Becky has served on the Brunswick School Board and has continued to be a strong advocate for our schools. I’m a volunteer for nonprofits, and whenever I have asked Becky for assistance, she has always been glad to contribute, both financially and with her time. ....
