Chick Corea
“What making music for people does, I’ve observed, is it stimulates what’s natural in all of us. It’s native sense, in every person. You don’t have to be a professional anything all you need to do is be a living human being, and open to the play of imagination.” –Chick Corea, Jazz Times (2020)
With a career spanning more than five decades and 23 Grammy Awards, pianist/keyboardist
Chick Corea first garnered international attention with Miles Davis, ever after exploring a vast range of music from Latin, fusion and modern post bop with acclaimed bands Return to Forever, Circle, Akoustic Band, Elektric Band, Origin, Circle, Touchstone, Five Peace, Vigil and Trilogy, and forming lasting acclaimed partnerships with Gary Burton and Bela Fleck. Corea passed away on February 9 at age 79.
