Austin police have arrested two men in connection to two separate fatal shootings that started off as road rage incidents last year.
Manuel Huerta, 21, has been charged with murder in both shootings, which happened in late November and the day after Christmas, police said. Jonathan Zavala, 33, was charged with murder in connection to the shooting after Christmas.
Authorities also said they believe the two men could be connected to about 11 different cases being investigated by Austin police dating back to September. Police on Wednesday did not say what all 11 cases were about. I think this is still the tip of the iceberg, there are still charges to come, and we believe there may be additional suspects currently still at large, or at least people of interest who may have information, Austin police Detective Filemon Zamora said at a Wednesday news conference.
