With most shows on hold due to the pandemic, hereâs a look at seven of the best albums being released April 16: Alaskan Tapes â For Us Alone The moniker Alaskan Tapes represents Toronto-based composer Brady Kendallâs ever-evolving ambient music project. He wrote the nine songs on For Us Alone in three groups of three, and as a result the music flows cohesively from one track to the next. Exactly three songs feature drums, one in each suite, a technique that helps flesh out the groups and connect them to the whole. Everything was written and recorded in Kendallâs home studio space with strings added remotely by Jonathan Dreyfuss in Berlin, who was the only other musician to play on the album. Photo(s) by Moran Iron Works Moran Iron Works and Ann Arbor-based Watermaster NA have partnered in a venture to manufacture the unique Finnish-engineered AMD 5000 amphibious dredging machine in North America. The Watermaster machine has been sold worldwide for thirty years but not in the U.S.A. due to an import policy called the Jones Act. Because the AMD 5000 is now made in the U.S., it is a fully Jones Act-compliant vessel and is now available for purchase throughout the country. The two companies came together over a year ago and through a series of leadership meetings in Helsinki Finland and Onaway, MI they agreed to join forces in an OEM partnership. The first machine is currently being manufactured in Onaway MI. Watermaster NA anticipates considerable growth as the U.S. marine maintenance industry becomes aware of the unique capabilities of the AMD 5000. ....
